How Difficult Are You Making It?
So far we’ve talked discipline, we’ve talked making the choice before you need to make the choice, but we’ve got one more thing…
“Making the easier stuff harder and the harder stuff easier.” This is one of my favorites.
I used to be someone who struggled getting out of bed without hitting the snooze (and I still am), I make it impossible to get to my alarm without needing to get out of bed and “hunt” for it.
By the time I shut the alarm off, I am out of bed, I am in another part of my bedroom, and I am up and ready to go. Hitting snooze at that point?
Getting going was made harder than staying in bed.
If I take all the food I know I don’t want to eat for my goals, I throw it out, and I fill my kitchen with stuff to get me there, well…
…I think it’s safe to say I’ve made it much easier to get the food I need than the food I don’t want.
The point is this: the more it’s a habit, the less you have to do to get there, and the easier it is to do the stuff you really want to do.
Let’s be real: who’s ever regretted getting fit, getting healthy, losing weight, gaining muscle, feeling great, and having energy?!
