Tell us about your sports and fitness background:


How did you first get exposed to CrossFit?  Take us back to your first WOD… what was it and how did it feel:

Greg S said that I should try it.  I made the logo for Chris, so I knew about it since the beginning of Iron Hero.  Took me about a year to try it.  I don’t remember what the first workout was.  I think it involved squats.  I felt awkward but glad to finally do some kind of exercise.  Plus, I thought it was cool to say that I was doing CrossFit.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit (before/after):

I feel great.  I lost a lot of weight and my body is trimmer.  My gut has gone down.  Hooray!  I am stronger too.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected:

I’m not as tired.  My blood work is more in balance.  More strength.  I like going to the workouts instead of dreading it.  It’s more fun than I thought it would be.  I really like that it is different every time that I go.

Most improved in the [PR] Challenge last fall.

Any advice for people just getting started:

Just get started.  It’s fun.  And set a schedule so you go on a consistent basis.

What are your hobbies, interests, and/or talents outside of CrossFit:

Grandson, working on cars, fishing, remodeling homes, staying and working on our cabin.
