Heat Safety, tomorrow!

Gracie says stay hydrated…

 

…The day is upon us, folks.  Bootcamp is tomorrow.

 

I was a bit worried that it was going to rain (by the way, if that happens, we will still meet but the location will change to our gym [723 N 114th St, 68154]).  Turns out, though, it’s not going to rain.  It will be, however, rather warm and probably humid…

 

That being said, here are some things to keep in mind:

 

  1. Keep hydrated – you feeling thirsty is not a good indicator of the early stages of dehydration.  Guess what?  By the time you feel thirsty, you’re well past dehydrated.
    1. Drink often.
    2. Side note:  take a pinch of regular table salt and put that baby into your water.  Not a lot, just a pinch.  Trust me.
  2. Warmup – we will do a relatively limited warmup since we will be warm anyhow, but we will get the body ready to do some work.
  3. Keeping cool – if you have a small cooler, keep a damp and cool towel in it.  You can use this to set on your head or your neck to help keep you cool.
  4. Before & After – we will try to find shade before and after the workout while we are briefing and debriefing
  5. Waiver – bring your waiver or be ready to sign one.  This is not an option.
